May is a big month for Foulab! On May 14th and 15th, we’ll have a booth at the NorthSec 2026 security conference. We’ll also be hosting a double-bill event presented by Montreal Anarchist Tech Convergence on May 15th for the Constellation anarchist festival (see below for details).
We’ve also acquired a bunch of mini-computers for the museum and set them up in the former bio-lab, though making them operational is a work-in-progress.

No Net Night - Thursday May 7th @ 18:30 - 23:00
No Net Nights are a monthly ritual where we gather to do activities in the lab that don’t require Internet access. It is a good time to socialize with Foulabbers, host a LAN party, check out the retro-computing museum or our library.
Protecting our Community from Airborne Disease and Other Pollution through Improvised Air Purifiers - Tuesday May 12th @ 19:30 - 20:30
We’ll be host to a workshop on making improvised air filters for community protection. Foulab already has one of these air filters installed in our space. This is a great opportunity to learn how to build one yourself.
This workshop will also occur at the Constellation Skill Faire on May 17th. So if you are interested in this topic, you can attend the workshop at Foulab, Constellation, or both!

Montreal Anarchist Tech Convergence Presents: Jour de MESH Day 2 - Friday May 15th @ 13:00 - 15:00
Part one of the Montreal ATC double bill is MESH DAY 2!
Last year, we invited you to foulab to learn about different technologies for creating mesh networks.
This year it seems like “mesh is in the air”… So, we are inviting all autonomous anarchist groups who are planning or actively working on building mesh networks across Montreal (and the world) to get together to discuss strategy, technique and how we can collaborate and coordinate our efforts.
This will be a guided discussion hosted by the Montreal Anarchist Tech Convergence.
If you are new to mesh network technology, we invite you to check out the workshop and skill share table introducing and exploring Reticulum that will be happening during the Constellation Skill Faire day on Sunday at CEDA!
Montreal Anarchist Tech Convergence Presents: MOVIE NIGHT! - Friday May 15th @ 15:30 - 21:00
For the second part of the Montreal ATC double-bill, they will be screening the following movies:
1. All Light Everywhere
“We do not perceive this blind spot in our vision. The brain invents a world to fill the hole at the center of it.” A documentary about bias in how we frame, process, and perceive things told through the development of technologies such as police body cameras, astronomy research, and automatic weapons.
2. War Games
An 80s thriller featuring teenage hackers, a disillusioned AI researcher, and the threat of global nuclear war.
Doors will open at 15:30 and the movies will start at 16:00. Between movies there will be a pizza dinner break (vegan + non-vegan), bring cash!
