Foulab has a lot of great events to carry you through the second half of the summer!

Mesh Night - Wednesday August 5th @ 19:00 - 22:00

Mesh Nights are a recurring monthly event, normally hosted on the first Wednesday of each month.

At the Mesh Night, we will be talking about and experimenting with mesh networking technologies such as Meshtastic, MeshCore, and Reticulum.

Beginners are welcome to drop by, we are happy to answer your questions and demo our devices for you.

Hosted by photon303

No Net Night - Tuesday August 11th @ 18:30 - 23:00

No Net Nights are a monthly ritual where we gather to do activities in the lab that don’t require Internet access. It is a good time to socialize with Foulabbers, host a LAN party, check out the retro-computing museum or our library.

Eighth SPVM Surveillance Discussion - Thursday August 13th @ 20:00 - 22:00

This is our eighth meeting to discuss the SPVM plans to employ AI surveillance tools. This meeting occurs on an open night so anybody who is present is encouraged to learn about what is happening and participate in the discussion.

Foulab Monthly Meeting - Tuesday August 19th @ 20:00 - 21:30

We will discuss Foulab business during the open night of August 19th, 2026. All of our meetings are open to the public, so even if you are not a member, you are welcome to attend the meeting and learn how we operate. It is also a great opportunity to become involved.

Free Software Social - Thursday August 20th @ 19:00 - 22:00

Linux, BSD, Firefox, Python, Signal, Git. This is the night to chat to about your favourite non-commercial and open-source software. Install Linux (or an even more obscure free OS!), get help from the community, or drop by to hang out with other free software enthusiasts.

This event was formerly known as the Linux social, the name has changed to reflect that all non-commercial and non-proprietary systems are welcome, except those written by fascists of course.

The event starts at 19h (7pm), allowing time for people to settle in and socialize. At 20h (8pm) we will host a round of lightning talks. Anyone is welcome to present any FOSS-related topic in less than 5 minutes. The theme is Show off your [set-up, hardware, tool you use, program you’ve made, anything you’re proud of]

Fediverse Night - Wednesday August 26th @ 19:00 - 22:00

Whether you’re a developer of fediverse software, an instance admin, a user, or just fedi-curious, join us at the monthly Fediverse Night for discussion about decentralised social media.

This is a recurring thing, hosted on the last Wednesday of each month.

Hosted by n00q

All August events are open to the public and free to attend, although we do appreciate donations.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are Open Nights. They are a great time for newcomers to visit the space. Sometimes events also happen on the these nights.

Mondays are our Shop Nights. On these nights people make noise in our shop area and help with its organization.
